(b) 4
(c) 12
(d) 8
(ii) Number of sides in a rectangle are
(a) 4
(b) 6
(c) 8
(d) 12
Question 2.
Now count these shapes and fill the blank spaces.
Question 3.
Draw two bigger rectangles around this rectangle.
Question 4.
Complete the rectangles using the following sides:
Square
A square is a two-dimensional plane figure with four equal sides and all the four angles are equal to 90°. A rectangle is called a square only if all its four sides are of equal length.

(d) 8
Question 4.
Draw two bigger squares around this small square.
Question 5.
Complete the squares using the sides.
Square Corners
The lines that form a plane figure are called sides or edge. Two lines where they meet is called the corner. Square has 4 sides and 4 corners.
Circle the square corners on these shapes.
Let Us Do
Question 1.
Circle the square corners on these shapes
Count the corners
Circle the number of corners that each object has.
Triangle-Triangle … so many Triangles
A triangle is a closed shape with 3 angles, 3 sides and 3 vertices. A triangle with 3 vertices says A, B and C is represented as △ABC.
Counting of Triangles:
For counting triangles, add numbers to the base of smaller triangles. Then add the base numbers to calculate the total number of triangles.
Example:
∴ Total number of triangles = 3
Question 1.
Count the number of triangles in the following figures:
