Akash bought a bat for ₹ 95 and a toy car for ₹ 84. Find the total amount spent by Akash.
Solution:
Cost of a bat = ₹ 95
Cost of a toy car = + ₹ 84
Total cost = ₹ 179
Thus, Akash spent ₹ 179 in all.

Question 3.
Vishnu bought a book for ₹ 95. He gave a 200-rupee note to the shopkeeper. How much money was returned?
Solution:
Amount given = ₹200
Cost of a book = – ₹ 9 5
Money returned = ₹ 1 0 5

Solution:
To add 629 and 353, write the numbers in the place value column.
Add the ones.
9 + 3 = 12 ones.
