CBSE Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

CBSE Scholarship – Selection Procedure

OBC Scholarship: OBC scholarships are awarded to students belonging to the OBC category (Other Backward Class). It is primarily aimed at providing better educational opportunities and financial assistance for economically backward, but meritorious students. Hence, this scholarship is also known as a merit-cum-means scholarship. There are many such scholarships primarily targeted for OBC students.

The scholarships are of 6 types and are awarded by either the state or the central government. There are a limited number of seats under each scholarship. Moreover, some of these scholarships require specific criteria to be eligible for the scholarship amount. However, these terms are conditions can be changed without any prior notice as per the convenience of the respective authority.

Central Sector Scheme for National Overseas

Central Sector Scheme for National Overseas is an OBC scholarship for candidates who wish to pursue a master’s degree or a Ph.D. program in a foreign university. The fields of study range from professional courses such as medicine and engineering to management and agriculture. Annually, 25 scholarships are provided per subject, and 30% of those are alloted to female candidates.

Candidates pursuing their masters are offered a 3-year fellowship while Ph.D. candidates are offered, 4-year fellowship. Additional benefits include visa fee reimbursement, airfare, allowance for local travel and incidence journey allowance.

Application Procedure

  • Candidates are required to obtain an application form from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
  • Fill in the required details and attach relevant documents mentioned in the application.
  • Send it back to the Ministry after completing all required processes. Employed candidates are required to send the application form through their employers. Such candidates are also required to attach their tax assessment details and salary slip.

Selection Procedure: The candidates will be selected after careful analysis by a selection committee formed by the ministry. Preference will be given to candidates who have already procured admission to a foreign institution.

Merit Scholarship for OBC Students – Delhi

Merit Scholarship for OBC Students is an OBC scholarship available to students pursuing their class 6th to class 12th. The scholarship is also available for students pursuing professional courses such as medicine or engineering. Students pursuing technical courses are awarded a maximum amount of INR 1620 per month and up to INR 4500 per year for other courses.

National Fellowship for OBC

National fellowship for OBC is a scholarship that falls under the purview of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. It aims to provide financial assistance to OBC students who wish to pursue advanced degrees and courses. A total of 300 scholarships are available for JRF (Junior Research Fellow) and SRF (Senior Research Fellow). The scheme is applicable to all universities that are recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The duration of the scholarship for JRF is two years, however, candidates can continue availing the scholarship as SRF for 3 additional years, provided that the research is progressive.
Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must belong to the OBC category with documents to support the same
  • Total family income from all sources should not be over INR 6,00,000
  • Must have completed post-graduation
  • Transgender candidates are eligible to apply. Reservation shall be provided as per the norms laid out by the Government of India.

ONGC Scholarship

ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation) provides 1000 scholarships to candidates from OBC category. The scholarship is applicable for OBC students pursuing their first-year graduate or postgraduate courses. Successful candidates will be awarded an allowance of INR 4,000 per month for the duration of the course.

Eligibility

  • Candidates must be pursuing their 1st year in professional courses such as engineering or medicine.

Post matric scholarship aims to provide financial aid to students from the OBC category and other backward classes to complete post-secondary education. This scholarship is overseen by the State and Union Territories in India. Moreover, students are not tied down to a single state. What this means is, a student belonging to one state, but pursuing a course in another state is still eligible to be awarded a scholarship by the respective authority in the same state. The scholarship award varies on the type of course (day scholar or hosteller).

Eligibility: Primarily eligibility criteria are that students have to be from the OBC category. Other eligibility criteria vary according to the respective state.

Pre-Matric Scholarship

Pre-matric Scholarship is provided to students belonging to OBC pursuing pre-matric in government schools or recognized private schools. The students are awarded a stipend up to INR 500 per month.

NMMS Scholarship 2019 | Application Process, Selection Procedure, Dates, Awards

NMMS Scholarship 2019-20: NMMS (National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship) is a scholarship funded by the Central Government. It is overseen by the Department of School Education and Literacy, under the Ministry of Human Resource Development. The primary goal of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to meritorious students from economically backward sections of society. MCM Scholarship is offered by the Government of India.

NMMS Scholarship also aims to reduce the rate of dropouts at the secondary level by awarding deserving students an amount of INR 12,000 per annum. The application window opens from November every year, students are requested to access the application form from the official portal. Over 1,00,000 scholarships are disbursed annually.

NMMS Amount of Scholarship Awarded

The scholarship awards eligible candidates INR 12,000 over the course of 12 months (INR 1,000 per month). The amount is transferred directly to the student’s account by the State Bank Of India through PFMS (Public Financial Management System). There are nearly 1,00,000 slots and each state is allotted scholarships based on the number of students enrolled in classes 7 and 8. However, only the students of class 9 will receive the scholarship amount and it is renewed every year until the student reaches class 12. Candidates still need to get promoted to be eligible though.

NMMS Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

This scholarship is applicable to meritorious students from economically weaker sections of society. However, there are other eligibility criteria that the students need to fulfill:

  • Applicable for students of class 9
  • The students of class 9 must have cleared class 7 and 8 with at least 55% marks
  • Candidates must be pursuing class 9 from a government or a government-aided school
  • For the scholarship to be renewed to class 11, students need to secure a minimum of 60% marks
  • Similarly, if the scholarship is to be continued to class 12, students have to secure at least 55% marks in class 11.
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST will be given a relaxation of 5%
  • The candidate’s annual income from all sources should not exceed INR 1,50,000
  • Students enrolled in Sainik schools, KVS, NVS and private schools are not eligible.

PRERANA Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria to apply for PRERANA Scholarship:

  • The student must be a domicile of Odisha state and belong to SC/ST/OBC/SEBC/EBC/Minority category.
  • Students belong to the general category can only apply for this Scholarship for EBC(Economically Backward Classes).
  • The family income of SC/ST students must not be more than 2.5 Lakh per annum.
  • The family income of OBC/SEBC students must not be more than 1 Lakh per annum.
  • Students must be studying in a recognized Government or Private institutes.
  • The family income of EBC students (General category other than SC/ST/OBC/SEBC) must not be more than 1 Lakh per annum.
  • EBC students must be pursuing their higher studies in government institutions only.

PRERANA Scholarship Rewards

PRERANA Scholarship provides the 100% course fee for general courses. Whereas the scholarship amount of Rs. 28,500/- will be provided for the technical like degree or diploma courses. The PRERANA Scholarship selections are on the basis of Merit. First, the institute will scrutinize the received applications. Then, forward the applications to the District Welfare Officers (DWOs). Then, the DWOs will sanction the applications and selects the students. So, the final selection of candidates depends on the DWOs decision. After this, the Scholarship amount will transfer to the selected candidate’s bank account.

KVPY Admit Card – Instructions

You would need to preserve the admit card well after the exam ends and until admissions are over. Hence, it would be wise to keep these instructions in mind:

  1. A candidate must not spoil or mutilate KVPY Admit Card.
  2. Candidates must also not change any entry made therein. For any changes in the information given on the admit card, contact the exam authority to the earliest.
  3. Candidates are required to preserve their KVPY admit cards in good condition until the entire selection process is over.
  4. Do not carry any unfair items.
  5. Any mutilated, altered or invalid admit card will lead to cancellation of your candidature.
  6. Also, carry multiple copies of the KVPY Hall Ticket in the exam hall.

KVPY Exam Center – Items Barred At Exam Center

Take care not to carry the following items with you, lest you be barred from attempting the exam.

  • Any electronic material such as a watch, microphone, Bluetooth, earphone, mobile, health band, calculator, pager, etc. is not allowed inside the exam hall.
  • You are also not allowed to carry pieces/bits of paper, pencil box and the like to the exam hall.
  • It is recommended to wear open footwear not closed shoes.
  • Candidates are also advised not to put Mehendi or any cosmetic color on their hands as it may cause an error while doing digital fingerprint scan recording on the exam day.
  • They cannot sit for the exam unless they clear the fingerprint scanning.

KVPY 2019: Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana 2019 is a national level exam that aims to encourage scientific temperament among the young minds of the country. The mode of application for KVPY is online only. The steps to apply are as follows:

  2. Register using your email Id and phone number. A login ID will be generated for you.Image may be NSFW.

  4. Fill all the details required.
  5. Upload the scanned copy of the photograph and signature, as well as the caste certificate( if applicable).
  6. Pay the fees either online using the integrated payment gateway on the KVPY official website, using either Net Banking or Credit/Debit Cards, or offline using the e-challan that can be downloaded from the site. The application fees of Rs. 1000/- (for OBC/General) and Rs. 500/- (for SC/ST/PWD) is nonrefundable once the form has been submitted.

KVPY 2019 Admit Card

KVPY Admit Card can be downloaded from the official website using the username and password that was generated during the registration. E-District Scholarship 2019-20 | Application Procedure, Documents Required

E-District Scholarship 2019-20: Stipends are a boon for those students and aspirants who are in severe need of financial support and who aspire to higher education. Looking at India’s economic crisis and financial instability, scholarships are the savior for such candidates. E-District Scholarships are a reward for candidates from across the country from the Government of India to pursue their studies without any lack of funding problems. E-District Scholarship Requirements

In order to fulfill those requirements, aspirants who are trying to obtain the award of E–scholarship are needed. If the candidate fails to follow and meet the eligibility criteria for the E–District Scholarship, no scholarship will be awarded. The appropriate requirements are set out below:

  • The candidate must belong to a reserved category acceptable in the country of India in question.

Until submitting the E-District Scholarship Form, applicants qualifying for the E–District Scholarship must follow the eligibility criteria. Higher Education Scholarship: The Kerala State Higher Education Council (KSHEC) has released the notification for the Higher Education Scholarship 2019. Higher Education Scholarship 2019

The Higher Education Scholarship is the most popular scheme. It has implemented in the higher education sector of the Kerala state. KSHEC provides higher education through scholarships and financial support to needy students. It encourages students from lower-income families to pursue higher education. The Higher Education Scholarship launched in 2009 by KSHEC. KSHEC is an advisory body acts as a state-level coordinating agency for higher educational activities. KSHEC was set up in 2007 by the state legislature act 22 in India. It works to develop teaching, research, and human resources. The Council contains 3 bodies as per the KSHEC Amendment in 2007. The Scholarship initiated to attract outstanding students to various disciplines. These are the human sciences, basic sciences, and business studies streams. Around 25,000 fresh undergraduate students apply for this scholarship every year. But, the number of fresh scholarships for each academic year limited to 1000. So, only 4% of the applicant’s avail of this scholarship. Due to the increasing demand of this scholarship, the council has decided to send a proposal. For which the number of fresh scholarships will increase to 1200.

Higher Education Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria to apply for KSHEC Scholarship:

  • Candidates of first-year undergraduate courses are only eligible for this scholarship.
  • First-year candidates of various Govt/Aided and Science Colleges of different streams in the state. Different streams of Science, Humanities, Social Science, and Business Studies are eligible.
  • Candidate Should be an Indian Citizen and domiciled in Kerala State.
  • Candidates who are studying professional courses are not eligible for this scholarship.
  • Candidates who are getting any other scholarship or stipend other than fee relaxation are not eligible.

The educational qualification of different category candidates based on the marks in class 12th as listed below:

  • The General Candidates should have obtained at least 75% of marks in Science/Business Studies. Whereas 60% of marks in Humanities/ Social Science.
  • The ST Candidates should have obtained at least pass marks.
  • The SC Candidates should have obtained at least 55% of marks in Science/Humanities/Social Science. Whereas in Business Studies should have obtained at least 60% of the marks.
  • The BPL/OBC Candidates should have obtained at least 60% of marks in Science, 55% in Humanities/Social Science, and 65% in Business Studies.
  • The PH Candidates should have obtained at least 45% of marks in all the subjects.

Higher Education Scholarship Rewards

KSHEC Scholarship amount varies depending on the education. Candidates who have a disability of over 40% will receive an extra 25% of the scholarship amount. The scholarship amount will be awarded to the shortlisted candidates as mentioned in the below-given table.

Higher Education Scholarship Selection Process

The Selections for this Scholarship are on the basis of Merit. The final selection depends on the academic merit and financial needs of the candidates. Higher Education Scholarship Renewal

Candidates must apply for the renewal of the Higher Education Scholarship every year. The selected candidate’s scholarships will be renewed in subsequent years. This process continues until they complete their post-graduation. Each candidate can get the renewal form from the Kerala State Govt and fill it up in the given format. Thereon, the candidate must get a recommendation from the Principal or HOD for renewal. The recommendation for renewing is based on the candidate’s satisfactory progress. In case of failure in any academic year result in the discontinuation of the scholarship amount/stipend for that entire period. INSPIRE Scholarship

INSPIRE Scholarship is a government scholarship that offers financial support to meritorious students for higher education. Students studying Bachelor and Master degrees in Natural & Basic Sciences are eligible for this scholarship. Around 10000 merit scholarships are disbursed every year under this scholarship. The scholarship awarded for a maximum duration of 5 years if the selected scholar shows good academic performance every year. The application for this scholarship will be submitted online.

Eligibility

  • Students must be within the top 1% of aggregate marks in class 12th board examination.
  • Students must be pursuing B.Sc. or Integrated M.Sc. in Natural and Basic Sciences.
  • Students must be within the top 10000 rankers of NEET, JEE-Mains, or JEE-Advance and will choose for Natural & Basic Sciences.
  • Students who have admitted to DAE-CBS, NTSE, IISER, KVPY, JBNSTS, NISER & Science Olympiad medallists choosing for Natural & Basic Sciences are also eligible.

Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is a government-funded National Merit Scholarship. It offers scholarship amount along with a contingency grant to meritorious students who are studying in class 11 & 12 or 1st year of B.Sc/BS/BStat/BMath or Integrated M.Sc course in Basic Sciences. Students have to go through an aptitude test and interview rounds before the final selection for this scholarship.

  • Class 11 & 12 students must have secured at least 75% marks in Maths & Science subjects in the 10th class examination.
  • 2nd-year students studying in Cambridge International exam board are eligible. These students must have secured at least 75% marks in Maths & Science subjects in the 10th class exam.

NTSE Scholarship

This is a National Talent Search Examination conducted by NCERT for class 10th students. It has conducted at two stages, i.e., State and National. Jio Scholarship 2019-20: Jio Scholarship 2020 will provide financial support to those students who wish to pursue higher studies but are unable to do due to poor financial conditions. Under the Jio Scholarship 2020 Reliance Group, financial assistance from Rs 35000 to Rs 55000 will be given annually. This sum of the scholarship will be granted to postgraduate students from Class 10. The selection will be made on the basis of the Merit list under the Jio Scholarship 2019-20. There is no restriction in the Jio Scholarship Scheme to the Class Wise Reservation SC/ST/OBC/Minority/General for the 2019 Scholarship Scheme.

WBMDFC Scholarship 2019-20: To address the growing aspiration for education in the minority communities of the state and with a view to providing them more avenues for socio-economic and educational mobility by extending financial support and encouragement to the meritorious students belonging to the minority communities, the State Government has decided to set up the “Aikyashree” – West Bengal State Scholarships for Minority Students in West Bengal to be fully funded from the State budget from the financial year 2019-20 onwards.

The primary objective of the Pre-matric Scholarship is to encourage the minority communities to send their children to schools and to prevent drop-out.  The Post-matric scholarship intends to encourage students to continue their pursuit of higher education. The objective of Merit-cum-Means scholarship for professional and technical courses is to support the students to pursue professional/technical studies for consequently increasing their employability potential.

The Corporation has been taking up various schemes like Economic Welfare, Scholarships, Coaching, Mass awareness and career counseling for persons belonging to notified minority Communities i.e. Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, Sikh, Jain & Parsee for their economic upliftment.

Talent Support stipend is a State Government-sponsored program under the MA& ME Department, Govt. Of West Bengal. WBMDFC is functioning as a Nodal Officer of the TSP Programme. WBMDFC was established in 1995 as per the West Bengal Act XVIII of 1995, i.e. The West Bengal Minorities Development and Finance Corporation Act, 1995. The function of the Corporation is to generally undertake the task of the economic welfare of the minorities.

WBMDFC has been taking up various schemes for Economic Welfare, Scholarships, vocational training, mass awareness and career counseling since inception. This stipend is awarded to the students who are residents of West Bengal and have passed their last final examination securing less than 50% marks. He/she should have been continuing his/her studies in regular mode. West Bengal Pre-Matric Scheme

The scholarship is given to Minority students for pursuing studies from class I to X.

  • The applicant must be a domicile of West Bengal.

  • Must have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination.

  • Applicant must be a domicile of West Bengal and has been continuing education in the recognized institutes situated in West Bengal.
  • The student should have passed out in the current year from recognized institutions affiliated/accredited to the WBBSE/WBCHSE/WBBME/any board or university situated in the state of West Bengal.
  • Annual family income must be within Rs. 2.5 lakhs(Certificate to be issued by an officer, not below the rank of Joint BDO).
  • Minimum marks required in the last examination Higher Secondary to Graduate level 75% and for Post Graduate level, Honours subject at Graduate level 53%, Graduation Level in case of engineering students 55% and K3-Kanyashree 45%

West Bengal Term Loan Scheme

West Bengal Minorities’ Development & Finance Corporation is providing the Term loan up to Rs. 5 lakh for persons belonging to the notified minority communities.Repayment with @ 6% interest in equal 12 or 20 quarterly installments in 3 or 5 years.

  • Annual family income for the rural areas must be within Rs.98, 000/-(Rupees Ninety-eight thousand) and for urban areas, it should be within Rs 1, 20,000/- (Rupees One lakh twenty thousand) only.
  • Guarantors required for the application for more than Rs. 40,000/-. For Loan from Rs. 40,001/- to Rs.50,000 – A Taxpayer or professionally qualified person (e.g. Doctor, Engineer, etc.) and For loan above Rs. 50,000/- A Govt./Semi Govt. Employee/Teacher or a good beneficiary of WBMDFC.
  • Applicants having training & experience in respect of the business for which he/she is applying will get preference.
  • Applicant’s age must be between 18 to 50 years.
  • Must have a savings Bank Account.

West Bengal Micro Finance (Directly to SHGs)

Small loans are required to sustain the present business, income-generating economic activities, and self-help activities. For this purpose, Microfinance is provided directly to the Self Help Groups (SHGs). At least 60% of members of SHGs should be from the Minority community. Upto Rs. 1,00,000/- per member of Self Help Group (SHGs) are provided directly to SHGs. Repayment at the rate of Interest @7% p.a.in 24 months

  • Self Help Group comprising of 10-20 Minority Women may apply for Loan under this scheme.
  • Annual family income for the rural area must be within Rs.98, 000/-(Rupees Ninety-eight thousands) and urban Areas within Rs 1, 20,000/- (Rupees One lac twenty thousand) only.

West Bengal Minority Women Empowerment Programme

This program is launched by MA & ME Deptt. , Govt. of West Bengal for providing soft loans to Minority women for any income-generating activity or business such as small business, cottage industry, Handicrafts, etc. at the rate of 3% interest. Subsidy @50% of the loan amount, subject to a maximum of Rs.15000/-, is given to each beneficiary.

West Bengal Educational Loan

Maximum Rs. 20 lakhs for study within the country and Rs.30 lakh for study in abroad Education loan is provided for pursuing professional courses like Medical, Engineering, Management, Nursing, and Law, etc. Repayment of the loan with interest @3 % interest in installments after 6 months of completion of the course of employment, whichever is earlier.

  • The student must be of the Minority community
  • Annual family income not more than Rs.1, 20,000 for urban area and Rs.98, 000 for rural area

WBMDFC Terms and Conditions

  • The applicant has to submit a certificate regarding family income at the time of application.
  • For ‘renewal’ applicants, the continuance of scholarship will be subject to securing 50% marks in the previous year examination.
  • Maintenance allowance will be provided to hostellers and day scholars.
  • Students should be regular in attendance, for which the yardstick will be decided by the competent authority of the school.
  • If a student violates school discipline or any other terms and conditions of the scholarship, the scholarship may be suspended or canceled. The State Government can also directly cancel the award if duly satisfied with the reasons of violation of these regulations governing the scheme.
  • If a student is found to have obtained a scholarship by false statement, his/her scholarship will be canceled forthwith and the amount of the scholarship paid will be recovered.
  • The course/tuition fees and maintenance allowance will be credited to the student’s bank account directly under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.

For upgrading the knowledge & skill in various trades, training Programmes are conducted mainly through reputed institutions. Commonwealth Scholarship 2020 | Apply, Eligibility, Application Process

Commonwealth Scholarship 2019-20: Commonwealth Scholarship, also known as CSFP (Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan), is a scholarship offered by the governments of Commonwealth countries to their respective citizens. It is primarily aimed at providing extremely talented individuals from economically weaker sections of the society with financial support and opportunities to excel in various fields.

Commonwealth Scholarship can be availed by Indian students to pursue higher education in three countries, namely: Singapore, United Kingdom, and New Zealand. The scholarships are awarded annually by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission. However, in India, the scholarship is jointly overseen by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), British Council and the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission.

Including India, there are 53 other countries from the Commonwealth. Many of these countries are still developing; hence, the Commonwealth Scholarship can be seen as an opportunity to pursue higher education, which would otherwise be prohibitively expensive and unfeasible.

Commonwealth Scholarship – Overview

Individuals that wish to pursue a Master’s degree under the Commonwealth Scholarship must submit their applications through a national nominating agency or select non-governmental institutions. The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission will not receive any applications not submitted through the said means. Furthermore, candidates are required to furnish other details for their application process, such as proof of citizenship or refugee status, transcripts detailing the educational qualification and references from two individuals. For 2019, the application window has closed, the next application period begins from October 2020 (Tentative).

Commonwealth Scholarship Eligibility Criteria for Master’s Course – UK

  • The applicant must be a resident of the commonwealth, a refugee or a BPP (British Protected Person)
  • The applicant should NOT have already procured an admission for a Master’s course in the UK or anywhere else.
  • The applicant must not be over 40 years of age.
  • Applicants who have studied abroad or stayed on their own for a period of six months are eligible to apply.
  • The minimum educational qualification required for the scholarship is a bachelor’s degree.
  • Furthermore, the applicant must have secured at least 60% marks in social science or 65% marks in science.
  • The candidates who have received the offer of admission from any of the universities listed under the scholarship are eligible to apply.

MOMA Scholarship 2019 | Minority Scholarships, Eligibility, Application Procedure

MOMA Scholarship 2019: MOMA scholarships are minority scholarships that are initiated by the Ministry of Minority Affairs. Under the MOMA scholarship scheme, students belonging to the minority communities of Christian, Buddhist, Jain, Muslim, Sikh, and Zoroastrian (Parsi) can avail Pre-matric scholarships, Post-matric scholarships and Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses. The winners of these national minority scholarships receive a scholarship amount of up to Rs. 20,000 per annum.

The Government of India is planning to disburse 5 Lakh scholarships under the post-matric scholarship scheme, 30 lakh scholarships under the pre-matric scholarship scheme, and 60,000 scholarships under merit-cum-means scholarship for professional as well as technical courses at the graduate or postgraduate level.

MOMA Scholarship 2019

Initiated at the pre-matric level to support the study by minority students, the scholarship awards class 1 to 10 students up to Rs. 600 monthly. Post-Matric Scholarship for Minorities

Under the system of Post-Matric Scholarship, minority learners may apply for Ph.D. in class 11. Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for Technical Courses CS and Professional 

Under the MOMA system, the Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship is intended for learners wishing to pursue professional or technical classes at the graduate or graduate level. The chosen learners receive a scholarship quantity of up to Rs. 20,000 per year. The household earnings of the candidates must not exceed Rs. 2.5 Lakhs under this national minority scholarship. MOMA Scholarships Eligibility Criteria

To apply for national minority scholarships, learners belonging to minority groups must study transparently in India in a state or private institution chosen and notified by the State / Union Territory Administration involved. The details of the requirements for eligibility are outlined below.

  • Educational Qualification: Students are required to study in class 1 to 10. Students must have scored in the previous final exam have marks of at least 50 percent.

MOMA Scholarship Application Procedure

You can apply online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) if you are eligible for any of these minority scholarships. Follow the measures below to fill out the application form for a minority scholarship.

  • First, by giving the right data, the fresh candidates must register as a new customer on the NSP Portal.
  • It is recommended to maintain all the required records with the candidates while applying for their required system of scholarship.
  • In filling out the registration form, candidates are needed to provide data about their academic skills, Aadhaar number, school/college enrolment number, bank details, and the state of home.
  • The application ID of the candidates is produced based on their state of residence. This application ID is also used on the NSP Portal as the’ Login ID’ and future references.
  • The applicants must also pick the appropriate category of scholarship under which they apply. For example, when filling out the form, an applicant studying in class 1 to 10 must select the pre-matric scheme.
  • Details such as the name of the applicant, date of birth, email ID, details of identification and mobile number must be thoroughly filled out.
  • After the registration form has been completed, an OTP is produced using which the applicant must log in and fill out the application form for the scholarship. Applicants must upload the document they need.

MOMA Scholarship – Instructions About Bank Details

  • The candidates must pick closely from the drop-down list the name of their bank/branch.

  • In the event of any breach by the student of the discipline of the institute/school or of any circumstances of the scholarship, the scholarship may be canceled or suspended.
  • To acquire a scholarship, the applicants must not provide any incorrect data as it would lead to the cancelation of the scholarship. If the scholarship amount has been paid to the applicant, it will be recovered by the State / UT government concerned.

SSP Scholarship: The State Scholarship Portal (SSP) initiated by the Center for e-Governance, Government of Karnataka (GoK). This portal launched for sanctioning of Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarships of GoK. The government of Karnataka offers many Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarships to eligible candidates. There are a total of 4 departments that offers scholarships through SSP to meritorious and needy students. SSP Karnataka Post-Matric Scholarship

This Scholarship offered by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India. This scholarship aims to provide financial support to students belonging to Minority Communities of Karnataka State. This scholarship is available for students studying from Class 1 to 10th. It is mandatory for all eligible students to apply both under NSP & SSP to avail of this scholarship. Students who have applied under NSP Govt of India are only eligible to apply under SSP Govt of Karnataka. Students can fill the application form and apply online on or before 30th September 2019.

Otherwise, click on ‘No’ and provide your correct SATS ID. If your SATS ID is correct but the name and other details are incorrect, then you should contact the school for corrections.
  • Enter your mobile number and click on ‘Submit’.
  • An OTP will generate and sent to your given mobile number.

  • Enter Aadhar details, Student NSP ID, Income and Caste Certificate RD number, and select Religion. Select Day Scholar or Hosteller and fill Student Personal details.
  • Then, click on the ‘Save & Proceed’ to generate acknowledgment.
  • After this, you can see the acknowledgment page on your screen.  If your parent has Aadhaar, then click on “e-Sign”. An OTP will be sent to your parent’s registered Aadhar mobile number, confirm OTP.  If your parent’s registered Aadhar mobile number is not active, then they will not get OTP. In this case, download the Consent Form from the SSP website, fill and submit to the school.

The selection of eligible students based on financial status and family income. If two or more student’s family income is the same then the DOB of students will be considered. OBC Scholarship: OBC scholarships are awarded to students belonging to the OBC category (Other Backward Class). It is primarily aimed at providing better educational opportunities and financial assistance for economically backward, but meritorious students. Hence, this scholarship is also known as a merit-cum-means scholarship. There are many such scholarships primarily targeted for OBC students.

The scholarships are of 6 types and are awarded by either the state or the central government. There are a limited number of seats under each scholarship. Moreover, some of these scholarships require specific criteria to be eligible for the scholarship amount. However, these terms are conditions can be changed without any prior notice as per the convenience of the respective authority.

OBC scholarships are a boon to students from economically weaker backgrounds. It relieves many of the hurdles that prevent students from completing their education. Poverty can wreak havoc on the student’s academics by leading students to stray. This can be manifested in the form of trying to earn a minimum wage to downright antisocial activities. Thankfully, scholarships such as these will curb such events or opportunities from ever happening.

Central Sector Scheme for National Overseas

Central Sector Scheme for National Overseas is an OBC scholarship for candidates who wish to pursue a master’s degree or a Ph.D. program in a foreign university. The fields of study range from professional courses such as medicine and engineering to management and agriculture. Annually, 25 scholarships are provided per subject, and 30% of those are alloted to female candidates.

Candidates pursuing their masters are offered a 3-year fellowship while Ph.D. candidates are offered, 4-year fellowship. Additional benefits include visa fee reimbursement, airfare, allowance for local travel and incidence journey allowance.

  • The candidate must have scored a minimum of 60% marks in their previous course

Application Procedure

  • Candidates are required to obtain an application form from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
  • Fill in the required details and attach relevant documents mentioned in the application.
  • Send it back to the Ministry after completing all required processes. Employed candidates are required to send the application form through their employers. Such candidates are also required to attach their tax assessment details and salary slip.

Selection Procedure: The candidates will be selected after careful analysis by a selection committee formed by the ministry. Preference will be given to candidates who have already procured admission to a foreign institution.

Merit Scholarship for OBC Students – Delhi

Merit Scholarship for OBC Students is an OBC scholarship available to students pursuing their class 6th to class 12th. The scholarship is also available for students pursuing professional courses such as medicine or engineering. Students pursuing technical courses are awarded a maximum amount of INR 1620 per month and up to INR 4500 per year for other courses.

National Fellowship for OBC

National fellowship for OBC is a scholarship that falls under the purview of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. It aims to provide financial assistance to OBC students who wish to pursue advanced degrees and courses. A total of 300 scholarships are available for JRF (Junior Research Fellow) and SRF (Senior Research Fellow). The scheme is applicable to all universities that are recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The duration of the scholarship for JRF is two years, however, candidates can continue availing the scholarship as SRF for 3 additional years, provided that the research is progressive.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must belong to the OBC category with documents to support the same
  • Total family income from all sources should not be over INR 6,00,000
  • Must have completed post-graduation
  • Transgender candidates are eligible to apply. Reservation shall be provided as per the norms laid out by the Government of India.
  • Candidates who are already registered for Ph.D./ MPhil are eligible for the award of the fellowship.

Post matric scholarship aims to provide financial aid to students from the OBC category and other backward classes to complete post-secondary education. This scholarship is overseen by the State and Union Territories in India. Moreover, students are not tied down to a single state. What this means is, a student belonging to one state, but pursuing a course in another state is still eligible to be awarded a scholarship by the respective authority in the same state. The scholarship award varies on the type of course (day scholar or hosteller).

Eligibility: Primarily eligibility criteria are that students have to be from the OBC category. Other eligibility criteria vary according to the respective state.
