Santoor Scholarship 2019-20 for Women | Dates, Eligibility, Application Process

Santoor Women Scholarship 2019-20: Wipro Consumer Care and Wipro Cares has initiated this scholarship. The Santoor Scholarship program was inaugurated in 2016-17. This scholarship is available only to the students of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Telangana states. This scholarship offers financial support to the girl students only from underprivileged backgrounds to pursue higher education after class 12. Santoor Scholarship will be provided to 900 female students every year. It also encourages students to pursue higher education in humanities, liberal arts, and science fields. The applications will be available on the website of the Santoor Scholarship on July 15, 2019. Class 12 pass out students can apply for Santoor Scholarship till 31st August 2019.

Santoor Scholarship is a recurring annual program. The selected students get supported for tuition fees and incidental expenses up to their higher education. Preference will be given to female students of backward districts. Santoor Scholarship program has provided support to around 2700 female students over the last three years. The selected students will receive the amount of Rs. 24000/-per annum till the completion of their graduation. Santoor Scholarship Eligibility Criteria 2019-20

Refer to the below eligibility criteria for Santoor Scholarship 2019-20.

  • Only girl students from disadvantaged and underprivileged backgrounds.
  • Students who are interested to pursue higher education in humanities, liberal arts, and science fields.
  • Students must belong to Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana states.
  • Students must have passed 10th class from a local government school.
  • Students must have passed 12th class from a government school or junior college during the academic year 2018-19.
  • Students must be enrolled in a full-time 3 years graduation program beginning 2019-20.
  • Students from backward districts will be given preference.

Santoor Scholarship Application Process 2019-20

Students fulfilling the eligibility criteria can apply for this scholarship program. The application form will be released online on 15th July 2019. Students who have passed class 12 can fill the application and submit till 31st August 2019. Students can also download the application form available in the pdf format.   • Students should visit the official website www.santoorscholarships.com.
  • Students must read the instructions carefully before filling the application form.
  • Click on apply online and register using Gmail, Facebook or any email id.
  • Log into your account and fill all the necessary details correctly.
  • Students also need to fill the reason to apply for this scholarship within 600 words.
  • The application form should be filled in English. The details should be entered in block letters using a ballpoint pen only.
  • Upload one passport size color photograph and scanned copy of the student’s bank passbook. The bank passbook must be in a student’s name and bank accounts other than Gramin bank will be considered.
  • Upload Scanned copies of class 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates.
  • A scanned copy of Aadhar card and caste certificate for minorities should be uploaded.
  • Any misperception found in an application will result in the rejection by the authorities.

Scholarships for Students 2019-2020: Details of scholarships for students 2019-20 are available here.   • UP scholarship is fairly available for all the candidates belonging to any of the categories such as General, OBC, SC, ST.
  • Applicants from those institutes, which are blacklisted by the government, are not eligible to apply for the scholarship. These barred colleges include Chaudhary Babulal Institute of Technology and Management, Hathras, Excellence College of Professional Studies, Meerut and Shri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology, Baghpat.
  • It is necessary for students to attach a hardcopy of the photocopy of the bank passbook with the application form.
  • Registrants must submit the application form in the department concerned, in person and must receive the receipt.
  • Candidates must provide their own effective email ID and mobile phone number.
  • All the details and documents produced by the candidate must be authentic and real. If the given information is obtained wrong, then the application and data collected will be rejected.
  • Suspect applications will not be sent for scholarship and will be discarded at the same time.
  • Failed students are not eligible and should not apply for the scholarship.

CBSE Date Sheet 2020: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) authorities will release the date sheet for CBSE 12 and Class 10 2020 for the board examinations that will be held for the academic session 2019 – 2020. According to the CBSE class 12th time table 2020, Class 12 board exams from February to April and Class 10 board exams from February to March. To give students sufficient time between consecutive papers, CBSE has released the board exam time table seven weeks before the exam date. Yashad Sumedha Scholarship 2020: Sumedha Scholarship is an initiative of Sumedha, a non-profit society registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1958. Its primary objective is to assist meritorious students from economically weaker sections of society to complete their education.

Sumedha Scholarship is formally called the Yashad-Sumedha Scholarship. The society partnered with Hindustan Zinc Limited to introduce the scholarship. The scholarship is primarily targeted for students pursuing their first-semester B.Tech (2020).

Sumedha Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must ensure that they fulfill the following criteria to be deemed eligible to avail of the Yashad-Sumedha Scholarship.

  • The candidate must be pursuing the first semester of B.Tech in any government institution.
  • The candidates must be a domicile of Rajasthan
  • Candidates must have obtained not less than 75% marks in the senior secondary examination

MHRD Scholarship 2019-2020: The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher Education has released the online notification for the MHRD Scholarship 2020. Secondary and higher secondary students can be benefited through this Scholarship. This is the Central Sector Scholarship also available for College and University students. The main objective of this Scholarship is to improve the education sector of the state. Also, provide financial support to meritorious students who are not able to continue their higher studies. MHRD Scholarships 2020 opens a large number of opportunities for students of India.

Students studying in class 1 to class 10th can apply for pre-matric scholarships. Students studying in class 11th and 12th can apply for secondary education scholarships. Graduate and postgraduate students can apply for higher education scholarships. MHRD Scholarship 2020

MHRD provides different scholarships to underprivileged students such as Pre-Matric, Post-Matric, Merit Cum Means, & Minority. So, all the category candidates can fill the MHRD scholarship application form and complete their education without any financial hurdle. The total number of scholarships are allocated between the State Education Boards based on the number of students passing out from various boards in the country within the age limit of 18 to 25 years. The State Education Board distributes scholarships between the pass outs of Science, Commerce and Humanities streams in 3:2:1 ratio. There are 2 categories of MHRD scholarships.

Central Sector Scholarship Scheme

This scholarship is given by MHRD Govt. of India to only the meritorious students who have passed in class 12. 82000 scholarships are awarded every year for pursuing UG/ PG in colleges and universities. Out of 82000 scholarships, 41000 are reserved for boys and the remaining 41000 for girl candidates. Scholarships are also awarded for medical, engineering, etc. professional courses. The following are some important points of the scholarship.

  • The Scholarships are distributed based on the senior secondary examination results.
  • Families’ annual income must not be above Rs. 6 Lakhs.
  • Graduate students will get a scholarship of Rs. 1000/- whereas postgraduate students will get a scholarship of Rs.2000/- per month.
  • Students can also renew their application form if they have secured a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate.
  • Authorities will select the students based on the merit list.

Special Scholarship Scheme for Jammu & Kashmir

This scheme offers to encourage the students from Jammu & Kashmir to study in institutions outside the State. It provides around 5000 scholarships towards tuition fees and maintenance allowance to students. The rate of scholarship towards tuition fee for Engineering courses is Rs.1.25 Lakh per annum, for Medical Courses Rs.3 Lakh per annum and for General Degree courses Rs.30000 per annum.

However, all students can avail of a fixed maintenance allowance of Rs. 1 Lakh per annum. The scholarship amount will be transferred directly to the student’s bank account through the Direct Benefit Transfer mode. 10 supernumerary quota are available in Engineering colleges whereas 2 to 3 supernumerary quota are available in Nursing colleges. This scheme also organizes workshops across states. The main goal of this scheme is to provide all the benefits to the deserving students.  The following are the eligibility criteria for the scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria for Jammu & Kashmir Scholarship Scheme

  • Families’ annual income must be less than Rs. 6 Lakhs.
  • Students who have passed class 12 from the state and secured admission in Section 12B of the UGC Act, AICTE or respective regulatory body approved institutions outside the state.
  • Students should apply online on the AICTE portal www.aicte-jk-scholarship-gov.in.
  • Students pursuing courses through Open Universities and Diploma courses are not eligible.
  • Students should not get benefit from other scholarships.
  • Students must not get admission through management quota.

Scholarship scheme for students from the Non-Hindi speaking States for Post-Matric Studies in Hindi

The main objective of this scheme is to encourage students of Non-Hindi speaking States to study in Hindi. This scheme distributes around 2500 scholarships to meritorious students studying Post-Matric to Ph.D. This scheme also provides Rs. 300 to Rs.1000 per month to each student based on the course and stage of the study. This scheme is implemented by the State Government/ UT Administrations.

MHRD Scholarship External Scholarships

MHRD enables the nomination process for the external scholarships offered by various countries. Most of these scholarships are for research, Masters and Doctoral courses. Cultural/ Educational Exchange Programmes offer these scholarships. The list of these scholarships is given below.

  • Agatha Harrison Memorial Fellowship by MHRD: This fellowship scheme offers to Indian students with a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience at UG/ PG level. This fellowship encourages young scholars interested in pursuing an academic career in Modern Indian Studies sponsored by the Government of India at St. Antony’s College, Oxford (U.K.).
  • Korean Government Scholarship by MHRD: This scholarship is provided by the Korean Government to Indian students interested in pursuing higher studies. Indian students have to study at a Korean University or a NIIED designated Institute Under this scholarship. However, the Korean Government will select only 5 students out of 8 nominations and some monthly allowance will be given to those students.
  • Israel Government Scholarship by MHRD: This scholarship is provided by the Isreal Government to Indian students interested in pursuing higher studies at Israel University. A total of 7 scholarships are provided to students out of which 2 are for the Hebrew language and 5 for Research under this scholarship. Students will be benefited from some monthly allowance, health insurance, and tuition fee facilities.
  • Chinese Government Scholarship by MHRD: This scholarship provides an exchange program between China and India. Under this scholarship, students will be benefited from boarding, lodging, health insurance, tuition fee, and other facilities by China Government. Some amount of scholarships will be provided to students.
  • UGC Scholarships by MHRD: University Grants Commission is the educational structure working under MHRD to provide scholarships to the meritorious students for their higher education. This scholarship offers college and university education to economically deprived students.
  • AICTE Scholarships by MHRD: This Scholarship is provided to students on merit basis by AICTE. AICTE offers financial support to students in the form of scholarships. MHRD Scholarship Eligibility Criteria 2020

  • Selected candidates for MHRD Scholarship 2020 will receive Rs. 6000/- per annum i.e, Rs. 500/- per month for their further studies.
  • The tenure of the scholarship for a Ph.D. is strictly 2 years without any extension.
  • During this tenure a scholarship amount of Rs. 12400/- per month will be paid to students.
  • The rate of MHRD Scholarship for the College and University courses is Rs. 10000/- per annum at graduation level. Whereas Rs. 20000/- per annum will be given at the post-graduation level.
  • Students pursuing professional courses with a duration of 5 years will get Rs. 20000/-per annum in the 4th and 5th year.
  • However, students pursuing technical courses such as B.E., B.Tech, etc. will get MHRD Scholarship up to graduation level.

MHRD Scholarship Selection Criteria 2020

Students will be selected for this scholarship on the basis of written test conducted by the Department. However, each State/ Union Territory will conduct its own competitive written test to select students for the award of the National Means Cum Merit Scholarship. The following are the two tests conducted at the state-level examination.

Mental Ability Test (MAT)

  • It consists of 90 multiple choice questions for testing verbal and non-verbal reasoning and thinking abilities.
  • The questions will be asked from Analogy, Classification, Hidden Figures, etc.
  • MAT test will be held with a duration of 90 minutes.

Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)

  • It consists of 90 multiple choice questions based on Mathematics, Science and Social Science subjects of class VII and VIII syllabus.
  • SAT test will also be held with a duration of 90 minutes.

MHRD Scholarship Renewal 2020

This scholarship is renewable up to 5 years in the same stream at the graduation level. For all professional courses, the scholarship will only be renewed up to the graduation level. If a student is unable to appear in the annual exam due to illness or some incident then the scholarship may be renewed for the next academic year on submission of verified proofs. Students changing their college/ University would be allowed to renew the scholarship. So, students who have applied for the MHRD scholarship last year need to fill the renewal form to apply for the same scheme this year. DTE Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria to apply for Scholarship DTE

  • Candidate must be an Indian national.
  • Candidate should be the domicile or permanent resident of Maharashtra state.
  • Candidates from outside the state are not eligible.
  • Candidate should be “Bonafide Student of Institute”. Also, admitted for the professional and technical courses.

UGAM Scholarship 2020: UGAM Scholarship Also known as the UGAM Legrand Scholarship, the program is primarily meant to aid talented and aspiring students to pursue Post Graduation courses at one of the higher educational institutions in France.

  1. ‘Keep India Smiling Foundational Scholarship Programme’ (Hereinafter ‘the Scholarship Program’) is being conducted by Colgate-Palmolive (India) Ltd. (“Colgate” / “Company”) from June 6, 2020, to March 31, 2021 (“Scholarship offer period”) and is open for Indian Nationals Only.
  2. The Scholarship Program is applicable to individuals/candidates from economically weaker sections/ below poverty lines. The documents for the same will be as prescribed by statutory norms and is open to those desirous candidates/ individuals who have all the requisite documents at the time of making an application. The specific details of the categories, eligibility criteria and entitlements of the Scholarship Program have been provided herein below.
  3. It is the sole responsibility of a candidate to go through the categories and the corresponding eligibility criteria as mentioned below and apply for the applicable category.
  4. The data collected through the registration process will not be used for any commercial purposes other than shortlisting candidates for the Scholarship Program.
  5. Meeting the eligibility criteria and applying for the Scholarship Program does not guarantee selection. The process entails various steps for shortlisting and final selection, which may take a few months.

PM Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Check the eligibility criteria for the candidates who want to acquire the PM scholarship. If the candidate does not meet the criteria, they will not be able to fill the application form or get the scholarship reward. Only those who fulfill the conditions will be rewarded with the scholarship amount and benefits.

  • Candidate should be a dependent ward/widow of deceased CAPFs & AR/ Ex-CAPFs & AR/ retired and serving CAPFs & AR/ State Police Personnel.
  • Candidate should be pursuing professional courses. (Not applicable for lateral entry and integrated courses).
  • The minimum education qualification to apply for these courses should be class 12/ diploma/ graduation.
  • The candidates should have secured at least 60% marks or above in the minimum educational qualification. (For renewal in subsequent years, the Candidates need to obtain at least 50% marks in the qualifying examination).
  • As per the latest decision made by the Government of India, the scholarship scheme will also cover the wards of State Police officials who are/were martyred during Naxal/terror attacks. A total of Rs.500 scholarships in a year will be given to the wards of State Police officials.
  • Wards of Civilians including Para-Military Personnel are NOT ELIGIBLE.

PM Scholarship Rewards

  • The amount of which candidate will receive under the Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme and for how many years the scholarships will be disbursed are the necessary details a candidate should know.
  • A total of 5500 eligible candidates get benefit under this scheme every year. And these scholarships are equally distributed among boys and girls, i.e. 2750 each.
  • Besides, the amount of the scholarship offered to girls is Rs.3000 per month and to boys is Rs.2500 per month, every year.
  • Moreover, the duration of the scholarship may differ from one year to five years depending on your course span.

PM Scholarship Selection Criteria

The criteria that are considered while shortlisting candidates for PM scholarship and the authorities who are responsible for the final selection of students, those details are discussed. For the end-to-end implementation and disbursement of the scheme, the Ministry of Home Affairs is completely responsible. But the preference is given to students in the following order:

  • Category A: The first preference is given to the wards and widows of CAPFs & AR personnel who were killed in action.
  • Category B: The second preference is given to the wards of Ex-CAPFs & AR personnel who got disabled in action.
  • Category C: The third preference is given to the wards and widows of deceased CAPFs & AR personnel who died during their service for causes attributable to Government service.
  • Category D: The next preference is given to the wards of Ex-CAPFs & AR personnel who got disabled during their service with disability attributable to Government service.
  • Category E: Further, the preference is given to the wards of Ex-CAPFs & AR personnel who have received gallantry awards.
  • Category F: The next preference is given to the wards of Ex-CAPFs & AR personnel (PBOR only).
  • Category G: Lastly, the preference will be given to the wards of serving CAPFs & AR personnel (PBOR) subject to the availability of the scholarship.

Note: The dependents wards of State Police Personnel who died during Naxal/Terror attacks will also be given preference.

PM Scholarship Renewal

Let us know the renewal procedure for the candidates who want to renew their scholarship. While the selected students will get the reward of the first installment of the PM scholarship as soon as the merit list is declared, the subsequent payments are done only if the scholars apply for the renewal of scholarship at the end of each academic year. Just like the new application, the candidate can also apply for the renewal through online mode. Although to apply for the renewal application, it is necessary for a candidate to fulfill certain criteria that include:

  • Candidate should secure at least 50% marks in every semester or academic year.
  • Candidates have to pass all the subjects in each year/semester in one attempt.

Candidate can apply for renewal within one year of the declaration of merit list and the applications can be made throughout the year but not between January to April months.

PM Scholarship for Integrated Courses

  • Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ) will be 10+2. However when applying students need to upload mark sheets of 10+2 in all cases, 1st year and 2nd year (all semesters) where 1st course is non-professional.
  • There are two types of Integrated Courses (dual degree) which are discussed below :
    • Integrated courses (dual degree) that have both the courses as Professional/Technical for example BE+ME, B.Tech+M.Tech, BBA+MBA, etc. In such cases, only the first professional degree will be granted a scholarship.
    • Integrated Courses (dual degree) which have a first degree as Academic (Non-Professional) and second degree as Professional/Technical for example BA + LLB, B.Com + LLB, B.Sc.+B.Ed. In such cases, students will be paid for the professional part of the course and not for non – professional/academic part.
  • A student pursuing Integrated courses wherein one degree is professional and another degree is non-professional, he/she will be awarded a scholarship for the professional portion of the dual degree course only and not for the academic portion of such course. The same is illustrated with the help of an example as under :
    • “In BA+LLB (dual degree course) first degree is BA which is non-professional and 2nd degree is LLB is which is professional. Therefore, scholarship for the professional portion (i.e. LLB) only will be provided.
  • When 1st degree is non-professional and 2nd degree is professional, in such cases, while seeking PM scholarship from third year onward student must have completed his previous two years of non-professional course without fail. Repetition/RA/Failure will make students ineligible to apply for a scholarship. A student should clear all the subjects of 1st & 2nd year in the first attempt and within the stipulated time frame from the date of admission, otherwise he/she will not be considered for award of scholarship and application will be rejected.

Important Instructions for Students

  • Students to respond in time according to SMS/email received from Kendriya Sainik Board.
  • E-mail and Mobile Number mentioned in the application must be of the student. Alternate Mobile Number can be of ESM. E-mail and mobile number once registered should not be changed since all messages being sent to the registered email/mobile number
  • During checking of new application if observation raised from ZSB/RSB and KSB is not rectified within the stipulated time frame of 10 days, then the application will be automatically rejected by the system. So ensure that the observation is rectified in time to avoid system rejection of the application.
  • During the period from January to May, processing, selection and preparation of merit list of a new application (1st-year students) are being done by KSB. Processing and payment of renewal applications are done as and when received by KSB throughout the year EXCEPT from January to May. Student/ESM to keep in mind the periodicity of checking of application (new and renewal) before raising any query relating to the checking/payment status of applications.
  • Student/ESM should log in to the KSB account to check the status of the application. It is to be noted while application status is showing pending to the student dashboard, but on the ground, the application is in the process at different levels/functionaries at KSB.
  • Student studying abroad as well as distance learning case is not eligible for PMSS

The Central Sector Scholarship Scheme is offered to meritorious students of College and University which aims to provide financial support to those scholars who come from low-income group families. Central Sector Scholarship Amount

  • Candidates applying from NSP for the first time required to register with the National scholarship portal Registration as a new user.
  • Fill in all the necessary information and click on ‘Register’ to get enrolled. The candidate’s application ID and password are sent on the registered mobile number.
  • The candidates need to log in to the NSP website using the recently generated ID and password. An OTP is sent on the registered mobile number using which the applicant must replace his/her password.
  • Once the password is modified, the applicants are directed to the Applicant’s Dashboard Page, where they need to click on ‘Application form’ to begin the application process.
  • The candidates need to give all the required details such as registration details, academic details, basic details, contact details and scheme chose.
  • All the required documents in support of identity and academic eligibility must be uploaded by the applicants.
  • Now, the filled-in application form must be saved as a draft so that the applicant can check every detail once again to make sure they are correct.

Central Sector Scholarship Renewal Form

The scholarship is renewed every year up to Post Graduate level in the same stream. For all professional courses, the scholarship will be renewed until Graduation level. For all the courses the scholarship would be renewed up to a maximum of five (5) years. The renewal of the scholarship is further subject to the student meeting the following criteria:-

  • Secured 60% or more marks for the two preceding semesters or annual examination which determines his/her promotion to the next class
  • Maintenance of attendance of at least 75% by the scholars and
  • Maintenance of discipline i.e. the scholars should not have been involved in any ragging activities.

Class 12th pass out students of the academic year 2008 to 2014, are required to apply directly to respective State Education Boards/CBSE and submit their renewal application form duly certified from their respective institutions. The renewal of the scholarship is subject to the student has scored 60 % or more marks in the previous exam, having 75 % attendance and not involved in ragging activities. Renewal applications directly sent to the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher Education, National Scholarship Division would NOT be entertained.

Is there any Permanent ID?

Answer:
Yes. A Permanent ID (PID) will be provided to the candidate once his/her application is submitted online. It will be conveyed to candidates through SMS and e-mail. Students should remember their PID as it will be required at the time of renewal application. Receipt of PID does not guarantee the award of scholarship.

Question 7.
How to check the status of my application online?

Answer:
You have to log in under the option ‘Student Login’ by entering your Permanent ID and Date of Birth. After login, you will be able to view the option ‘Check Your Status’. Under this option, you can check your online application status.
